We are delighted to announce the winner of the Anders Scholarship Award for 2024, Sebastian H., winning a $1,000 scholarship and being recognized for his unique appreciation and perspective of the healthcare field.
To be eligible for this annual scholarship, applicants are required to be enrolled in a college, medical school, or trade program, or they can be a GED holder planning to attend one of these institutions during the upcoming semester. The applicant must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
A significant requirement for eligibility includes writing an original essay of 500-1,000 words discussing the role of an Allied Health, Nursing, and Therapy professional in today’s world and how their roles affect healthcare, public safety and everyday lives. The essay must be an authentic, personal experience of how an Allied Health, Nursing, or Therapy professional has touched the applicant’s life, along with recommended action that should be taken to impact the difficult job of an Allied, Nursing, or Therapy professional.

A Life-Changing Phone Call
Sebastian shared with us how his phone call went when Anders Group notified him about being the scholarship winner:
“As I was sitting at the kitchen table reading some emails on my laptop, I received a call from an unfamiliar number. Normally I do not answer unfamiliar numbers, but this time I decided to–and I’m so glad I did. “Is this Sebastian? What if I told you that you have been chosen for the 2024 Anders Group Scholarship?”
When I heard those words, a smile immediately came across my face. I could not believe the amazing news. This scholarship will help tremendously in my educational journey in STEM at Columbia University and beyond.
My goal is to make an impact on the medical world through technology, and I am beyond grateful for the support of the Anders Group in reaching my future goals. I am just as grateful for all of the healthcare workers–in particular my older brother–who work tirelessly despite many challenges to make the world a better, safer place.
